Innovation Team of Rural Environment Construction

Targeting major national needs such as rural revitalization, the team focuses on rural human settlements improvement, conducting research on core technologies and applications for rural latrine and sewage treatment, as well as advanced conversion technologies for straw cellulose. Since the 13th Five-Year Plan, the team has undertaken over 30 projects, including those from the National Key Research and Development Program, National Science and Technology Support Program, and the National Natural Science Foundation. Over 180 papers have been published, including more than 60 in JCR Zone 1 journals, along with 11 monographs published, 11 software copyrights registered, and over 80 patents granted, of which 14 are invention patents and 10 international patents. More than 30 standards have been formulated, including 2 national standards and over 10 industry-specific standards. The team has received 5 awards above the ministerial level, including the Second Prize for National Science and Technology Progress and the First Class Award for Achievements in Nationwide Agricultural, Forestry, Animal Husbandry, and Fishery. One Youth Science and Technology Award from the Chinese Society of Agricultural Engineering and one Talent Award from Da Bei Nong Group have also been bestowed upon members. Two national endorsements, three ministerial approvals, and six significant consultation reports have been achieved. The “Key Technologies and Models for Toilet Renovation in Typical Rural Areas” was named one of the Top Ten Scientific Advances by the Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences (CAAS) in 2020.
