Innovation Team of Risk Assessment of Environmental Hazard Factors

Addressing critical national requirements concerning food safety and health qualities of agricultural products, the team focuses on areas related to product quality assurance and control. Targeting the complexity and uncertainties associated with environmental factors impacting product quality and safety, continuous research is conducted spanning the full chain from identifying environmental factors, risk assessment, to process-based risk management. Since the 13th Five-Year Plan, the team has undertaken over 30 projects or subprojects funded by the National Key Research and Development Program, the National Natural Science Foundation, and special funds from the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs. The team has published more than 180 academic papers, secured 32 patents, and obtained copyrights for over 30 software programs. Additionally, more than 30 national and industrial standards have been developed and formalized. In recognition of their work, the team was honored with an award for excellent performance in commercializing research outcomes from CAAS in 2021. The “Series of National Standard Materials” project was acknowledged as one of the significant scientific outputs by CAAS in 2022. Pesticide residue standards and matrix samples for heavy metals developed by the team are now widely used in over 200 institutions nationwide.
