In response to national strategies for biodiversity conservation and sustainable agricultural development, the team focuses on the field of ecological agriculture, with research carried out on crop diversity and productivity enhancement, soil food webs and healthy cultivation, soil-crop relationships and functional regulation, as well as ecosystem stability and safety. Since the 13th Five-Year Plan, the team has undertaken over 20 projects including those from the National Key Research and Development Program, the National Natural Science Foundation, and the Special Scientific Research Subjects of Public Welfare Industry (Agriculture). More than 220 papers have been published, 13 books authored, 8 invention patents granted, 9 software copyrights registered, and 10 national standards formulated. The team has won 10 ministerial awards, including a First Class Award for Achievements in Nationwide Agricultural, Forestry, Animal Husbandry, and Fishery, and a Second Prize for Scientific and Technological Progress in Tianjin Municipality.
