Research Area

Ren Tianzhi Engages his research in fields of Ecological Agriculture, No-Point-Source Pollution Control, and Sustainable Agricultural Development. He is Vice-chairman, Chinese Association for Protection of Agriculture Ecological Environment; Vice-chairman, Chinese Society of Agricultural Resource & Environment; Vice-chairman of Chinese Society of Farming System; Vice-chairman, of Chinese Society of Agricultural Resources & Regional Planning; and Co-chair of Sino-UK Sustainable Agriculture Innovation Network Workgroup 4. He is also chief scientist at CAAS innovation research team, agricultural biodiversity and bio-safety.

The CAAS Innovation Research Team

The name of the team is called “agricultural biodiversity and bio-safety”, which focused on the ecological function of biodiversity, effects and control mechanisms of transgenic and invasive organisms and sustainable intensive agriculture demonstration. The team consists of 11 researchers, 7of them got PhD, 4 staff got MSc. The team has a laboratory over 577 m², the instruments include q-PCR, gradient PCR, Bio-rad DGGE, AA3 Continuous flow analyzer, GC-MASS and etc. The team is in charge of Scientific Observing and Experimental Station of Agro-Ecosytem of Genetically Modified Organisms in Tianjin, and Eco-Safety Supervision, Inspection & Testing Center of Genetically Modified Organisms, Ministry of Agriculture, P.R. China, Tianjin.
